A native of Columbia, SC, cellist Kenneth Law resides in Fairfax, Virginia, where he maintains a large private cello studio. In addition to an active freelancing and recital career, he is also a regular member of the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, Fairfax Symphony, Ritz Chamber Players, and Main Street Chamber Players. He has performed at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center Series, and Alice Tully Hall. Internationally, Mr. Law has performed in England, Scotland, France, Panama, Puerto Rico, Czech Republic, and the Bahamas. A recipient of the 2010 SC ASTA Studio Teacher of the Year Award, Mr. Law’s pre-college students have been accepted to the Oberlin and Peabody Conservatories, Cleveland Institute of Music, Indiana University, Florida State University, Cincinnati College-Conservatory, and other respected music programs around the country. His degrees and diplomas are from the Eastman School of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, Peabody Conservatory, and The Juilliard School. During the summer, Mr. Law is on the cello faculty of the Five Seasons Chamber Music Festival and Vienna (VA) Summer Strings, serves on the Artistic Planning Committee for the Gateways Music Festival, and is Director of Chamber Music for the Colour of Music Festival in Charleston, SC.
